What is WiNG

WiNG 5 is a very fast and reliable WLAN architecture that brings the intelligence of the controller to each access point and reduces the delay in sending network traffic. The integrated stateful fi rewall covering layers L2 to L7 and packet capture “on the fly” at each access point ensures that only allowed traffic applications have access to your network. In addition, on-the-fly packet capture provides a detailed picture of a wireless network, increasingly required by network administrators and business analysts.

WiNG is one operating system that is used throughout the product line, offering enormous scalability – support from one access point to 25,000. devices and the cloud. The use of integrated Bluetooth modules in many access point models allows you to support optional sensors for radio communication, Bluetooth and environmental parameters (light, heat, movement) – these were the first 802.11 access points supporting IoT solutions.

Modern WiNG access points, including the latest dual-band 802.11ac Wave 2 devices with triple sensor technology and a dedicated WiFi sensor and Bluetooth modules. Both AP 8533 and 8432 support 4×4: 4 MU-MIMO technology, which is currently extremely important because most customers still use 1×1 or 2×2 configurations.

Third dual band WiFi radio module in the 3×3 configuration provides maximum network protection. Bluetooth module can be used to detect dangerous Bluetooth devices and by Apple or Google Eddystone applications to perform location functions.

As part of a fully dispersed WiNG architecture, the intelligence of the controller is distributed to access points, which significantly reduces the demand for bandwidth between access points and the controller, and minimizes the dependence of remote locations on the controller. In this way, controllers can support a larger number of access points and clients (as in the table below). In this model, the controller plays the role of a service platform used to provide services and monitor networks and remote locations.
